| I Beam Work For lack of a better name I call this series my I Beam Work. I have used steel beams since I started welding and fabricating steel. As I was making the Sandwich for the Kingston Biennial in 2005 I got the idea to make a sculpture where the light would shine out of negative spaces. I didn't want the viewer to see the neon directly. I also wanted simplicity. The first one of these was made and displayed in the Unison Arts Center Sculpture Garden in 2005. I have been building on this idea and they have been an important element in my work. |
